I became a Reiki Master, not because of scientific studies, BUT BECAUSE IT WORKS!

What is Fibromyalgia?

According to medical sources, the term fibromyalgia stems from the Latin “fibra,” for fibrous tissue, the Greek words “mys” for muscle, and “algia” for pain. Fibromyalgia has an impact on muscles, joints, and bones. Fibromyalgia does not harm organs and is almost never life-threatening, though it can significantly impact one’s quality of life. It shares some symptoms with arthritis, including chronic pain and fatigue.

Fibromyalgia is a complicated condition. It has no specific causes and no known cure. It is not known what sets off fibromyalgia flare-ups, though in some cases it appears to be tied to a stressful or traumatic event, illness, injury or another disease. The condition runs in families, but a specific gene for fibromyalgia has not been found.

How can Reiki help ease the pain of fibromyalgia?

My experience is that meditation followed by a 1 hour 15 minute Reiki energy treatment has made a significant difference for my clients with Fibromyalgia.

Here is an example and a testimony from one of my clients:
I met Joan at The Crafty Framer in Largo at a seminar I gave as Preplanning Specialist for Veterans Funeral Care (my other career). She booked an appointment with me for a Reiki treatment.

When she arrived for her appointment, I happened to see her getting out of her car. She could barely walk into the clinic and down the hall to my Reiki Studio. We sat down together for a confidential consultation to find out more about her and her reason for wanting a Reiki treatment. She suffers from almost constant fibromyalgia pain.

I then instructed her through a 5-minute meditation to help her focus on her energy and relieve the severity of her pain, both mentally and physically.
Her mobility was so restricted when getting up onto the table, we had to place a stepping stool for each foot to be able to get her on the Reiki Table.

I asked if I could place healing crystals on her major energy points (chakras), to which she agreed to. I played soothing meditation music while I moved my hands up and down her body to break up energy blockages to bring her relief through the Usui Reiki method.

When she got up from the table, walked down the hallway and out to her car, SHE HAD A SPRING IN HER STEP!!! She told me, “I feel so much better! I can’t even describe it to you!”

We meet on a regular basis and she said she can’t wait for her daughter (who also suffers with fibromyalgia) to schedule a Reiki session with me.

Joan’s Testimony (in her words):
“I have suffered with fibromyalgia my entire life. I was finally diagnosed in 1995 – 26 years ago. I experience pain and fatigue daily. Brenda has been giving me Reiki treatments every couple of weeks for the past 3 ½ months. I improve in mind and soul with each Reiki session, which is helping with the fibromyalgia on a daily basis. I feel more focused and clear-headed. I am able to follow through and finish projects. I was not able to do that for many years in various degrees.”

MY THOUGHTS IN CONCLUSION:

Here is my question to anyone suffering with fibromyalgia or other issues related to stress, health or emotional concerns:
“Have you tried countless ways to heal or feel better with little or no relief? Are you ready to do something different?”

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?

Reiki is never to replace what you are already receiving from medical practitioners. Reiki treatment is a complementary energy therapy that can enhance and improve your current condition.
